First Church of the Brethren is a fully Open and Affirming congregation. That means LGBTQ+ people are welcome not just in the pews, but at every level of our church's life — leadership, marriage, communion, and full participation in our shared community. If church hasn't felt safe for you before, we understand, and we'd love the chance to be different.

Our Story

Over 140 years in Wichita, 60 on the corner of 10th and Jefferson.

More than a sunday morning

Our building is home to a yoga group, a meditation gathering, a community event space, a recovery Bible study, music lessons, therapist sessions, an early childhood program, and more, all week long. Our doors, like our welcome, stay open for the life of the church and our neighborhood.
